CurioByte ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. We believe in collecting only the data necessary to provide you with a personalized learning experience—and nothing more.

a. Personal Information

When you sign in, we collect basic identifiers to secure your account:

  • User ID (UUID)

b. Usage Data

To make the app work, we store:

  • Your Interests: The categories you select (e.g., "Science", "Art").
  • Your Library: Which cards you save, view, or dismiss.
  • Progress: Your history of daily learning.

c. Device Data

  • Push notification tokens (only if you opt-in to reminders).
  • Timezone (to deliver content at your preferred time).

d. Payment Information

We never see or store your credit card details. All transactions are processed securely by Apple via the App Store.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data strictly to:

  • Curate Content: Select the 5 cards most relevant to you each day.
  • Sync Your Progress: Ensure your library and preferences are saved across devices.
  • Send Reminders: Deliver the "Daily Byte" notification (only if enabled).

3. Where Your Data Lives

We partner with industry-leading infrastructure providers to keep your data safe:

  • Supabase: Our backend provider for secure database hosting and authentication. Your data is encrypted and stored on their secure servers.
  • Apple: If you use "Sign in with Apple," Apple provides us with an anonymized credential to protect your real email address.

4. Your Rights

You are in control. You can:

  • Edit Interests: Change your category preferences instantly in settings.
  • Delete Account: You can fully delete your account and all associated data directly within the App settings. This action is irreversible.
  • Opt-Out: You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

5. Security

We implement modern security standards (SSL/TLS encryption, secure tokens) to protect your information. We never sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties.
